Urban Decay Drops a New Palette Inspired by the Sun

Might as well be walking on the sun.

Some trends ride the fad wave and die forever—RIP feather hair extensions—while others have true lasting power—here's to you, all things unicorn and rose gold. One such trend that doesn't seem to be seeking retirement anytime soon is all about bringing the heat. The warm-toned eyeshadow trend first caught fire last summer with the launch of a number of palettes of perfectly curated shades of gold, red, rose, and terra cotta. And it's burning right on through this summer with the launch of Urban Decay's new Lightbeam Eyeshadow Palette.

The new Macy's exclusive palette just hit online and stores today and boasts a compact curation of sunlight-inspired hues we're thinking will be perfect for capturing that golden hour look all summer long. The palette actually includes five new shades that run the sunlight spectrum from a pinky nude to a deep burnt orange with both matte and sparkle finishes.

Shades include a matte pinkish neutral called Nudie, a brown and gold shimmer called Vibe, a vibrant orange with gold shimmer called Paradox, a shade-shifting red and green shimmer called Golden Hour, and a metallic brown called Influence. Take a peek at the swatches below.

Palette lovers likely already recall that UD is already winning the warm-palette game with Naked Heat, which dropped last summer and is still burning hot. But we're thinking Lightbeam will have legs of its own this summer thanks to its tighter selection of colors—there's five as opposed to the 12 in Heat—and more wearable selections. Plus, Lightbeam is playing up to UD's strength of solid neutrals and basics. Bottom line: sunny, summer shadow isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and we couldn't be more thankful.

Urban Decay's Lightbeam palette is available for $24 exclusively at Macy's and macys.com right now.
