Tswizzle Shakes Off The Haters
Today in a live stream straight from the top of New York's Empire State Building, Taylor Swift told a crowd of hand-picked fans three new surprises:
First, she started by playing her new single "Shake It Off" from her upcoming fifth studio album. If you liked her previous hits, "I Knew You Were Trouble" or "We Are Never Getting Back Together", chances are you'll love this new fresh turn as it comes from the same exact production team. Swift said about the song, "People can say whatever they want about us, at any time and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to that."
Second, the songstress announced that her next album, titled "1989", will be her first official pop album. Taking inspiration from late-'80s pop, Swift's decisive split from her usual country route might quell critics known to accuse her of dabbling away from country despite competing for the same recognition as traditional country artists. To promote the album, she'll be giving away 1,989 prizes including 1000 tickets and 500 meet 'n' greets to her next tour.
Third, she released the video for her first single, "Shake It Off," featuring professional dancers and random fans of Taylor Swift chosen from her social media pages. Check out the video below and comment your thoughts on her new sound!
