Three Unexpected Eyeliner Shades Everyone Should Try
The shelves of drug stores and beauty stores alike are lined with endless amounts of eyeliners—and the shade options available don’t stop at black and brown. But let's be honest, even if the entire rainbow was offered, the thought of using any color other than a neutral can be quite daunting. But if you’re willing to play around with some color, these three shades are a fantastic place to start.
White: To brighten up your eyes, line the inner corner of your eyes with white! For an even bolder, brighter statement, line the eyes in white entirely and blend it out with a pale shadow.
Purple: From light violets to deep indigoes, purple eyeliner always gets the attention of others in the best way. Purple works especially well to bring out hazel eyes, but, of course, it still helps the eyes sparkle regardless of your eye color. Line the eyelid and bring it out to a cat eye and smudge it in with a dark shadow to intensify your look. For a more natural look, stick with a thin line on the eyelid.
Blue: Whether you want to be bold and go for a turquoise twinkle or implement a chic twist in your daily makeup routine with a navy liner, purchasing any blue eyeliner will be a worthwhile investment. Draw attention to your eyes with a lighter blue, or lightly line both the upper and lower lid in a deeper blue for a more subtle statement.
