Splurge on these top-rated pencils, gels, and powders to sculpt and define the perfect brows.
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow is an awesome product for a natural brow and is completely build-able for something more perfectly defined and dramatic.
In typical Benefit Cosmetics fashion, the packaging is cute (compared to what I'd expect out of brow makeup.) Not as long as a mascara tube nor as small as some deluxe samples, Gimme Brow is an agreeable size with a wand also absolutely perfect for precise application. It comes fairly priced as well.
With easy application, it takes only a couple quick swipes and you have an refined, awesome natural look. Take it a step further by doubling your swipes and you've got thick, youthful looking brows. Want something perfectly lined and dramatic, use an inexpensive (or favorite) brow pencil or powder, to give a solid base.
Easily worth 5+ stars, Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow is my daily go-to for casual days and all-occasions. ...read more
Out of all the tinted brow gels I've tried, and there have been MANY, the Black Boy Brow is definitely my favorite. ...read more
One small note - the "Taupe" is really more like a light or medium brown color (taupe always makes me think of more of a cool toned grey-brown and this is definitely not grey toned at all, a true brown shade of some kind). My eyebrows are very dark brown, almost black, and I didn't expect it to work for me, but it actually looks amazing! Definitely a "Universal" color, even if not really a Taupe. :) ...read more
Also, this product lasts FOREVER. You definitely get your money's worth! This has lasted me 10 months to date and I use it quite frequently.
The only time I don't like it is when I have already applied a heavy foundation. It is really hard to apply after that and becomes a mess. I now usually do my eyebrows before my foundation, or use a thinner foundation to avoid that problem. Once it is applied, it's really hard to get off to fix it. I use a thin brush and concealer afterwards to clean up the lines.
On days I need it to hold extra well, I apply the Anastasia eyebrow powder on top of it. I do have to say that it holds really well on the areas that my eyebrow already has hair. On the areas there isn't any hair, it doesn't have anything to stick to and sometimes it fades. Most days when I take it off at night, it won't come off with a makeup wipe, and I have to use a waterproof mascara makeup remover to get it off. That is fine with me!
I have tried drugstore pomades/waxes, and nothing will ever be as good as this. If you want a more natural look, you might want to go for a powder or brow wiz instead. I've been doing more of the "Instagram eyebrow" and I like my lines to look darker and perfectly straight. It's lasted me a long long time, although it starts to get drier over time so make sure you close the lid as tightly as possible every time you use it, to keep the air out. I have been using it almost everyday I've done my makeup since it was first released and I couldn't be happier. ...read more
