The Best Makeup for Brown Eyes
Hey brown eyes. We love how deep and dark chocolate brown eyes can be. In order to play up the beauty of those big brown eyes, you have to make sure you're using the right makeup. Hey, Van Morrison didn't sing about his "brown-eyed girl" for nothing.
Below are some of our beauty hacks for making your brown eyes really stand out.

Brown is a mix of all the primary colors, so get excited knowing that you have a lot of freedom when it comes to choosing an eyeshadow color. Greens and cobalt blues will help pick up different flecks of color in your eyes, while coppers and golds will help them glisten and shine. Copper is a good complement since it helps highlight whatever shade of brown you have. Golds, and many other warm metallics for that matter, make brown eyes glisten. If you have even the tiniest highlight in your dark brown eyes, a good gold eyeshadow can put its shine into overdrive.

Similar color principles apply to eyeliners. If you're not willing to commit to full gold eyeshadow, try for a subtle gold liner on your top or bottom lid. Silver eyeliner can also work really well to bring out the highlights in your eyes. You can also play around with some navy or electric blue eyeliners if you have brown eyes. They're an easy swap from a boring black liner.

For mascara you can try and purple or eggplant color. These are just what you need to make your irises stand out. If you're not willing to commit fully to the purple mascara look try a burgundy color like the YSL featured above. It's a less extreme option for brown eyes. As always blue can be a go-to - it's a subtle, yet amazing alternative to black mascara. People might not notice this one at first, but once a little light hits your lashes you'll definitely turn heads. Try a gold mascara to add some shimmer and contrast to your lashes and irises.
