Based on 5,148 Influenster Reviews
Finding a foundation for oily skin is difficult. Finding one for oily skin that lasts is even tougher. You have to be mindful of the formula and for what skin type it's addressing. Don't select one meant for dry skin. Matte is always a safe bet.
Influensters have these same questions and they've left thousands of reviews on which foundation is the best for your skin type. Check out this roundup of the best foundations for oily skin, based on Influenster reviews.
I tried this product in a last-ditch attempt to find a foundation that my oily and very acne-prone skin would tolerate. EL has had this product for quite awhile, IIRC, but I hadn't thought to give it a try - I have struggled through using other brands that completely break up on my skin...
The shade "Linen Beige" matches my NW/NC 20 complexion perfectly. There are only four shades available, so those with darker than a "medium" complexion will be out of luck.
I dot this foundation on with my fingertips and I smooth it out with a sponge. Because it doesn't contain silicone, a foundation brush really isn't helpful or necessary. It offers medium coverage that nicely covers my capillaries and helps smooth out my pores a little. I'd say it has a satin-matte finish and there is no glow which I am ok with as radiant formulas just make me look like an oil slick. I remove it with either Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm or Boscia oil.
As you can see from the ingredients list, this does contain some "fatty" ingredients that might not help the very, very acne prone. However, it doesn't break me out and really does last all day long. Lost a star from me as it has a strong fragrance (ick) but it goes away quickly. ...read more
Cost and packaging: I paid $50 for the full sized product, which is on the high end side. I was wary of trying it but decided to take the plunge, if I didn't like it I would just return it. The foundation came in a metallic a simple box, no gimmick, no free gift, no fancy posters. I figured since it didn't come with any special tag along, the ingredients were the reason it was so expensive *aside from the brand name*.I usually don't like Dior makeup since it's shiny silver packaging makes it look tacky but the foundation really looks expensive and tasteful. It has a blue cap with the silver "forever" and a white pump. The bottle is frosted glass with black print, I've been careful to store it perfectly every time it, though I doubt it would break since the glass is actually quite strong.
Consistency and coverage: coverage is AMAZING. I have large porgies and some scaring but this foundation smooths over my skin and makes it look fresh and dewy.I tend to use 2 pumps since it squirts out very little. I like using a duo fibre brush and go all mover my face, since the foundation is light it doesn't leave streaks or clumps of makeup. The product is very liquidy, it runs a little when it's on the back of my hand, but I like it since it's easier to blend.
Product overall: the coverage it gives is amazing, it really covers all the imperfections on the skin with a single layer, the consistency it has is great since it works well with a sponge, a brush * foundation or duo fibre*,even your hands if your in a rush. I've had this product for about 1year I used to use it every day, but now save it for special occasions so I can feel great when I step out. Amazing product, if you have the spare money or want to invest in something high end this product is a MUST!(: ...read more
