Did your favorite make the cut?
The texture is quite runny but it dries quickly on the skin. I should warn you that this foundation can be quite drying and will look cakey if you apply too much.
I use the “Combination/Oily Skin” formula in Golden Beige. The shade is a near perfect match for my skin since it has just the right amount of yellow undertones. I would have to say that this foundation provides medium to full coverage, especially for those of you who may have no blemishes (or only a few blemishes). This foundation will do a good job covering most (up to 90%) of hyperpigmentation scars that are about 1 week old. I would warn you that it won’t do much to cover new areas of hyperpigmentation and hypertrophic (raised) or atrophic (depressed/indented) scars. It does a pretty good job covering up pores and giving a smooth, matte finish because of it’s silicon-infused formula.
I was surprised that this liquid foundation actually felt very light on my skin – it didn’t feel like I had any foundation on at all. If you set it with a good finishing powder (I use the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder), the oil control of this foundation is actually pretty good. My skin will last up to 6-8 hours without getting oily if it is also set with powder. I don’t even need to blot!
This foundation doesn’t oxidize on my skin at all. Coverage doesn’t fade throughout the day like my BB creams do, so rarely do I ever even need to touch-up and re-cover blemishes. However, I generally still don’t like using a liquid foundation all the time so I use this as a concealer more than an all-over the face foundation.
A plus about this foundation is that it does have a little bit of SPF (I believe it has an SPF of 6) and uses titanium dioxide, which is a plus for me because I definitely prefer physical sunscreens over chemical sunscreens. ...read more
I will definitely repurchase. Why? Because of the color choices!
I have a darker skin tone. Most drug store foundation brands give you a choice between Beyonce or Lupita. I remember in the past, when I was younger and first trying to use makeup, I would buy two foundations and mix them just to get near my skin tone. I always thought, what do you do when you have yellow undertones and medium-dark skin? Then I did some more research and I figured out I had to purchase a $40 (at the least) Department store foundation.
Then I found this.
Maybelline has outdone themselves this go around.
They offer dry-normal skin/ oily-normal skin options and about 8 different shades for brown girls! I am so excited! All together I think there's around 14 shades.
I purchased the oily-normal skin foundation in the color Toffee 330. The consistency is nice. It's definitely a medium coverage foundation. It's not heavy at all, and the oily-normal foundation is so good for girls with oily skin. My skin looks just as good in this, as it does a foundation I payed $60 for. My mom even said the Maybelline looked better. I can't believe it took me so long to discover this. This foundation is perfect for me.

I bought this foundation when I first started using makeup, which was kind of surreal to me, that I was spending some serious moolah ($8 at the time was a lot of money for me, because I'm cheap) on something that sits on my face, only for me to take it off in a few hours. What I didn't know was that I'd go back and buy this again and again because it has amazing coverage that can be built up or sheered out, looks natural, and doesn't break me out. That's one of the biggest things with this makeup, is that it doesn't break me out at all. Not one bit. I have pretty sensitive skin, so that's important to me.
I'd absolutely recommend this makeup to anyone, there's a huge shade range to choose from too. ...read more
