Because these are not matte, they aren't kiss proof, but regardless they still have amazing staying power. I've worn one of these from 5am until 11pm, and the color still looked pretty good at the end of the day. If they do fade, they fade evenly and gracefully. The darker colors, however, can get a little bit messy if you wear them and eat a greasy meal, but with all the other colors that wasn't too much of an issue.
TL;DR, if you're looking for a nondrying, comfortable, long lasting (not necessarily kiss proof) liquid lipstick with great color payoff (and a great price), you should definitely give the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips a try!
These are different. They're a comfortable matte, and I attribute this to them being lipsticks rather than a liquid that dries down. They apply easily and glide on creamy, but stay matte. They don't get quite as dried-down, no-transfer type of matte as the liquids do, as you might expect. I found that some of the shades lasted longer on my lips than others. With She Bad, an everyday pinky nude, I felt like the colors left my lips very easily. It was lighter than my lip color of course, so it left without a trace. The darker shades like Climax, Back Up and Chateau stuck around much longer and survived eating and drinking much better.
You get a lot of product for $5 with these, and the only one I ever completely ran out of was She Bad, as I was wearing it to school every single day for a few months. I think the price is great for the quality of the lipsticks, and I like that they're easy to throw in your purse for reapplication if necessary.
These are probably my favorite lipstick formula from Colourpop, followed by the Ultra Satin lips...I just don't like how much those transfer though. I believe Colourpop has stopped referring to them as "Matte X" and just lists all the shades that were released as Matte X as "matte" now, but all of these shades are still available as of now.
The liquid consistency of these lipsticks makes them very easy to apply and considerably forgiving. The formula is super long wearing and I have worn them through very busy days at school and events without reapplying them and they look great. They all dry completely matte and aren't horribly uncomfortable throughout the day. However, you may want to apply chapstick before deciding to wear these all day long. Before buying this product, understand that it was made for people who do not have the time to reapply constantly. It is matte and long lasting so it will dry out your lips a bit.
The packaging is attractive with a metal lid and duo chrome brand label. However, after a couple of days out and about with these lipsticks, the labeling wore off. The product is still completely effective, though.
These liquid lipsticks retail for $6 which completely makes up for the packaging defects. If you want an affordable, high quality liquid lipstick then you should immediately go to Colourpop.
Overall, I would definitely recommend these lipsticks because of the price, formula, and availability.
UPDATE: I just found out that Dopey is an ultra satin lip, but the review is still the exact same. Sorry!
