Drugstore Dupes for tarte Shape Tape Concealer
Based on 74,784 Influenster Reviews
Every so often a product is so good it continually sells out. tarte's Shape Tape Contour Concealer is one of those products. The full-coverage, creamy formula has been a beauty blogger, makeup artist, and Influenster favorite since it launched. Users love this concealer for its buildable yet lightweight and zero-crease properties.
It brightens and hides dark circles instantly while providing a matte finish that won't exacerbate fine lines or pores. And although all of this is enough to warrant the concealer a much-deserved Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Luxury Concealer, it does rack up a $25 price tag, which might not be doable for everyone.

Another Influenster Beauty Award winner, ColourPop's creamy concealer contains soft blurring pigments that keep application smooth and crease-free. Plus, the matte finish rivals that of tarte.
Application: Smooth, glides on like a dream. The applicator is a typical doe foot applicator, but the product needs no help. The concealer is so smooth and blends well over other products, so it works beautifully on top of every foundation I've applied. I use a standard, damp beauty blender to work it into my skin. I've tried brushes, but I just prefer the sponge. It's all a matter of preference!
Wear time: It wears through the day so well. I work as a barista and often have a lot of liquids splashing around me and more often than not, syrups and coffee on my face. The concealer held up through a lot of long shifts, some up to nine hours, and it only creased a tad - nothing a little touch up can't remedy. I bring this with me in my purse when I know I'm going to be working a full day.
Price: Six dollars. SIX. DOLLARS. I've used concealers like the NARS radiant cream concealer and the Tarte Shape Tape, and this concealer worked just as well for so much less than the price of its high end competitors. If you are on a budget, or if you just like nice concealer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, this is for you. I would compare it mostly to the NARS radiant cream.
Coverage: I would say medium - you can build it up to achieve a fuller coverage if you would like.
Color selection: Extensive. There are colors for all shades of skin. I bought the fair 5 and the fair neutral, I believe, and both work well for my skin tone. I prefer my concealers to be a little lighter than my foundation and my actual tone just to do some brightening underneath my eyes, but there are so many options to choose from, not just the lightest of the light. Very POC friendly, and that's important.
Amount of product: The tubes are relatively normal sized for a concealer, but if you like to pack it on, you may be finding that you run out fairly quickly. I've been using mine for about two months and I find that I'm getting a little low. Nothing that needs to be worried about, because I do like to use a lot of concealer, but something to keep in mind. They're not huge, as most concealers aren't, but you do get a really great amount of product for how little you pay.
Repurchase: Yes. Definitely yes. I have a concealer in my Colourpop cart that I'll be buying as soon as I run out, along with a few other things to try from the site. I recommend this to everyone, and it's truly something I wasn't expecting from Colourpop. I love it to pieces and I'm so glad to have found this - it's safe to say I've found a holy grail. For only $6, you can get another Beauty Awards winner. Maybelline's concealer boasts a dark circle-erasing formula that utilizes an easy-to-apply micro-corrector applicator.
I am not even being slightly dramatic about it. It's no secret that I am almost constantly sporting some gnarly dark circles under my eyes. And to make matters worse, I am pale as can be and if not properly covered, these dark circles look downright terrifying.
As someone who has a difficult time sleeping and who's body is much more keen on drinking coffee for energy rather than, you know, resting, I am going to be upfront that dark circles are my most constant companion.
So far, in my 10+ years wearing makeup, I've had virtually no luck in keeping these from showing up as harshly as they do. Concealers are hit or miss for me. But Maybelline knocked it out of the park with their Age Rewind formula.
It applies perfectly and is sleek. It doesn't cake. It brightens my under eyes and blurs away the dark circles. Best of all it's cheap, long lasting and there are a ton of colours to choose from. Best drugstore concealer and my ride or die. ...read more
This cult classic has a following in its own right. In addition to the standard concealer shades, there are color correcting options as well. Influensters love how this evens out skin's tone and keeps fine lines barely noticeable.
Another wonder from Maybelline is this top ten concealer that boasts a natural-looking finish. The comparable applicator and blemish-concealing abilities of this product have it coming in as a close dupe for tarte.
Wet n Wild's formula has been causing a stir among the beauty community for it's quality formula that rivals that of tarte. With the zero white cast formula and $4 price tag, this is a top drugstore pick for Influensters.
