Scarily Simple DIY’s for Your Halloween Party
Spooked at the realization that Halloween’s right around the corner?! Don’t worry, you still have time to make sure your festivities are oozing with spirit. Here are some of my favorite DIY party decorations to make sure your monster mash will be the most highly-anticipated event for this Halloweekend.
Bat & Ghost Garlands
I’ll admit, these garlands may be more on the cutesy side than the spooky side, but I’d say they’re still the perfect wall accessory for your Hallo-party. You’ll need googly eyes galore, plus some foam craft balls to achieve these fun little monsters. Check out Evite for the full tutorial!
Moon & Stars Backdrop
What’s the point of a Halloween party if you’re not going to document all the costumes?! This beautiful backdrop is perfect for capturing all the epic costumes worn by your guests—and it’s SO easy to make! It’ll take little more than an X-acto knife, cardboard, and paint to achieve this picture-perfect party prop. You can find the full tutorial on Free People’s blog.
Balloon Ceiling Spiders
The kids will love these giant, goofy creepers crawling across your ceilings. It really doesn’t take much more than black streamers to transform your house into the must-attend event of the weekend. For more steps, visit Southern Revivals.
Speaking of little creepers, aren’t these mummy jars just the cutest things ever?! They are so incredibly easy to make that it’d be a crime not to have them at your party. Grab some of those old jars lying around and some gauze--oh, and don’t forget about those googly eyes-- to bring these bad boys (back) to life. Check out the full tutorial at Crafts Re-designed.
Yes, yes, another one for the kids—but seriously, they will go NUTS over this cauldron of witches’ brew! I mean, heck, I think adults will think it’s pretty cool… or maybe just me. Pop some dry ice into a plastic toy cauldron and watch the kids’ faces light up and your status instantly jump to the neighborhood’s coolest house.
