Rodan + Fields Launches Two New Game Changers in Skincare
We spoke to the Derm behind both
Dermatology-inspired skincare brand Rodan and Fields has two brand new launches, each dedicated to a unique skin concern. We have all of the details, thanks to our convo with Board Certified Dermatologist Dr. Rita Linkner.
But first, let's talk products:
SOOTHE REGIMEN: A 4-step fragrance-free routine to address visible redness, dryness, irritation, sensitivity, and uncomfortable skin. It's demonstrated visible imporvement in flares due to eczema and atopic dermatitis. Formulated with ultra-soothing ingredients like Colloidal Oatmeal, Peptides, and Ceramides, this regimen helps supply the essential building blocks to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and acid mantle.
REVERSE REGIMEN: A 3-step regimen that works to visibly even skin tone and tackle discoloration caused by acne, aging, and the environment. Using a combination of Niacinamides + Antioxidants during the day and a powerful Retinal + Vitamin C duo at night, you could see minimized dark spots and discoloration in as little as two weeks.

When it comes to addressing skin discoloration, it isn’t a "one and done" type of fix. Why is it so important that consumers follow a regimen, and most importantly, stick to it?
When it comes to treating discoloration, choosing the right ingredients is key. Consumers often find it’s challenging to find products that work well on the skin without reacting to each other. R+F’s unique Multi-Med Therapy approach combines the right ingredients, in the right formulates, used in the exact order you need to see the best results like Vitamin C and Retinal for discoloration.
The Reverse line harnesses some powerhouse ingredients. In the Reverse Tone Correcting Treatment, how was the team able to build a formulation to deliver visible results quickly without irritation? Is there a specific delivery system?
After years of formulation, the team found a way to stabilize Vitamin C and Retinal in one product that is often sold as two to avoid compound reactions. They were able to encapsulate the Retinal with a Calcium buffer system which dissolves into the skin slowly releasing the Retinal for the most effective results.
Can you provide insight about Retinal MD Technology? What ingredients or mechanism of action are used?
Retinal MD Technology is a proprietary blend of ingredients that helps enhance cell turnover for brighter and smoother-looking skin. Rodan and Fields Retinal-MD Technology is one step closer to the Retinolds Dermatologists prescribe in office.
Can you share more about the RF3 Antioxidant Complex that is featured in the Brightening Defense Fluid Lotion SPF 50?
Rodan and Fields RF3 Antioxidant Complex is a patented blend of ingredients to protect the skin against environmental aggressors like free radicals and pollution that can cause discoloration. While SPF protects against UVA/UVB rays, antioxidants give an added layer of protection to ensure the skin is better protected.
Eczema is a serioues issue for a lot of our members, as it is a skin concern that is not only a “beauty” issue, so to speak, but also one that also brings uncomfortable itchiness and irritation. How was the Soothe line built to address the special issues related to this condition?
The SOOTHE Regimen takes all the widely known good-for-you ingredients like ceramides and adds in some lesser known ingredients that are great for sensitive skin sufferers like Colloidal Oatmeal. This blend of products helps provide ingredients to immediately calm irritated skin and provide the building blocks needed to increase the skin’s protective barrier. Looking at the ingredients in the Soothe Treatment, one is Cherimoya Fruit Extract. Tell us more about it, as it may be a new name for many of us.
Cherimoya Fruit is naturally packed with antioxidants like Vitamin C. We all know Vitamin C is one of the most potent ingredients to protect the skin from free radicals that cause skin discoloration and pre-mature wrinkles.
