If you haven’t already noticed, men all over the world have been making some major hair statements recently. We’ve spotted everything from the Jared Leto inspired man bun to the Elvis Presley-esque pompadour. Needless to say, we’re swooning over these styles.

So, if you’re on the lookout for an extra dapper approach to your locks, let us guide you through the best styles for 2016! We took a little inspo from our friends at Business Insider to give you ideas before your next barber shop visit.

Long-haired men rejoice! The super popular man bun will stay on trend for 2016! This requires long locks, preferably a couple of inches from the shoulders. This will give you the ability to wrap all of your hair into a messy or clean bun.  The key to this look is maintaining healthy, long hair. We recommend using Mane ‘n Tail--your hair will grow like a weed!!

Mane and Tail

Talk about having that ‘James Dean daydream!!  The pompadour features short hair on the back and sides, and longer hair at the top (AKA the POMP). The pompadour became super popular in the ‘50s when Elvis Presley started rockin’ it.

Redkin Gel

For short tapered sides, you can tell your barber to give you a low, medium or high fade into the top. If you’re looking to slick back the sides, keep it around one to two inches. Try Redken’s Grip Tight Holding Gel to keep the slickness strong. And for the pomp, depending on how extreme you want to make it, the best results are between 3-6 inches.

Undercut products

Whether you’re naturally curly or have straight locks, there’s plenty of undercut styles for you! You could slick back your hair, combing it over. Or, like the handsome gentleman above, you could leave it loose and natural.

Side Part

The side part is a timeless classic and perfect if you’re searching for a more professional approach. This look is typically easier to manage with thick, straight hair. And the best part? It’s probably the simplest haircut to style. All you need is a comb and a little gel to keep the hairs in place.
