With two weeks of January under our belts, it's about time those New Year's resolutions start getting a little harder to keep. But don't give in now! Even during happy hour you can have your drink and keep your resolution. We found five low calorie cocktail recipes so you can sip and slim!
Tiny Russian
1.5 oz Numi Early Gray Tea
1.5 oz orange vodka
1 lemon wedge
Directions: Prepare tea and let steep for two minutes. Remove bag and let the steeped tea chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes. Mix vodka with tea and garnish with a lemon wedge
Ginger Kombucha by Love and Lemons
Crushed ice
Vodka
Ginger kombucha (any brand)
Mint
Lemon
Directions: Fill a small glass with crushed ice. Pour in equal parts vodka and kombucha. Add sprigs of mint and lemon slices to taste!
Skinny Margarita by Give Me Some Oven
1.5 oz tequila
1.5 oz (3 tablespoons) lime juice
0.5 oz (1 tablespoon) freshly-squeezed orange juice
0.5 oz (1 tablespoon) water
2 teaspoons agave nectar
Ice
Directions: Add tequila, lime juice, agave, orange juice, and water to a cocktail shaker (or a glass). Shake for about 10 seconds to combine. Strain and serve over ice.
Mojito by Epicurious
1 oz fresh lime juice
2 heaping teaspoons superfine sugar
1 cup crushed ice
12 fresh mint leaves, plus 5 small sprigs for garnish
2 oz white rum
1 oz club soda
Directions: In 10-ounce glass, stir lime juice and sugar together until sugar dissolves. Add 1/4 cup crushed ice. Rub mint leaves over rim of glass, then tear leaves in half and add to glass. Gently stir for 15 seconds, then add rum, remaining crushed ice, and club soda. Gently stir for 5 seconds, then tuck mint sprigs into top of glass and insert tall straw.
Cherry Vodka Lemonade Slushies by With Salt and Wit
2 teaspoons lemonade mix
3 fl oz cherry vodka
1.5 cups water
2 cups ice
Directions: Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and slushie texture. Enjoy!
