It's hard to imagine relaxing on a beach under the warmth of the sun when half of the country is facing plunging arctic temps. But from the second we got our frozen fingers on Lano's new Coconutter hand cream, that's exactly what we imagined: a warm breeze, sand between our toes, and nothing but palm trees for miles.
But back to reality. Our hands are dry, cracking and in desperate need of some assistance. Enter Lano's Aussie cult-classic lanolin-based hand cream to the rescue. For those who don't remember, founder Kirsten Carriol gave us a full rundown of the benefits of lanolin in our interview with her last year. But basically, "lanolin a substance that sits on sheep’s wool that keeps the fleece protected and waterproof throughout seasons," says Kirsten. So what does this mean for your skin? We're talking extreme moisture retention and skin barrier support!
So needless to say, it makes for an excellent hand cream. And the new coconut oil-infused version is even more prepared to tackle winter skin than ever! This formula contains the same grade of lanolin Lano fans know and love this time with a coconut twist—it's formulated with antioxidant-rich and soothing 100 percent Coconut Oil and Coconut Milk extract.
In addition to having an incredibly hydrating formula (seriously, we put it on our hands this morning and we're still reaping the benefits well after lunch!), but it has a very comfortable one too. Lanolin molecules are very similar to our skin's molecules and sink into skin nearly immediately. The new Coconutter blend has that added touch of coconut oil for extra moisture all while smelling like your dream vacation.
Sure the instant absorption is wonderful, but we also love how it does so without any excess residue or stickiness. It's non-oily and didn't leave us afraid to get greasy finger prints on our keyboard post-applying. And although the coconut scent was noticeable, it wasn't overpowering—if fragrance is something you're concerned with! Although you can easily apply this hand cream to other parts of the skin—cuticles, elbows, rough patches—you won't have to leave your lips in the lurch. There's a Coconutter flavor for your lippies too!
Although you'll have to wait until February to shop the new Coconutter flavor at Ulta, you can get your hands on some of the brands other top hits like the OG 101 Ointment Mulitpurpose Superbalm, the Everywhere Multi-Cream, or a Tinted Lip Balm.
