We have some great news for our chocolate lovers. A beloved classic will now finally be made available in the US. Earlier this week, Ferrero U.S.A announced that Kinder Eggs—the legendary chocolate eggs with toy surprises inside—will now join the chocolate shelves of the US.
And it's about time! The chocolate egg candy is currently available in 170 countries and is a popular pick in Europe (this editor stockpiled up the eggs on a recent trip to London!). And although the egg has two, separate halves, FDA regulations about combining food and non-food items have been the cause of a Kinder-free US since the 1930s. The eggs combine the yummy Kinder chocolate that sweet tooths know and love with cocoa cream-filled wafer bites and a cute little toy à la the American classic, Cracker Jacks.
But no more will we have to suffer a Kinder-free life. Starting on Black Friday, Kinder Surprise eggs will hit Walmart so chocolate lovers can get their sweet fix and their toy fix. Of course, maybe take a peek which side you're biting into. But other than than, nom away!
