Insta Trend: Glow-in-the-Dark Hair
We're intrigued by those who turn to Instagram to show off out-of-the-box trends. We've seen everything from rainbow highlights to stenciled hair. But if you ask us, glow-in-the-dark hair seriously takes the cake. See for yourself with the photos below.
💥NEON MANIA💥 one of our industries sweethearts @hairbyjosephtrace always lets me do his hair on whatever way I see fit for any competition coming up😁 #LuckyMe For this color, I started by fading his perimeter and putting in an accent shape, something I'd seen while at the #SalonInternational2016 show and was dying to try. I prelightened the shape and his top section using #Kenra Simply blonde blue lightener and 20vol mixed with #olaplex and #antidot to helps prevent breakage and scalp irritation. I capped him and processed for 20 min without heat. I then shampooed and did not tone. I carved out an N (for neon 😁) on an angle and let that create my block subsections. I painted the "N" in #neonYellow and the remaining subsections I rooted with #NeonCharcoal and continued to place slices of #Charcoal #NeonBlue and #NeonGreen in each block. I isolated each subsection with foil to prevent bleeding. I finished off the accent shape with #NeonOrange . I processed for 20min with no heat. I rinsed strategically with very COLD water to prevent bleeding. I finished his style by using first Kenra Blow Dry Spray and Smoothing Creme from newgrowth to ends and blew dry. I created a rope braid and set with HiDEF hairspray for texture and finished with Ultimate Hold Spray creating a twisted pompadour effect. I'm obsessed with this color. Wait till you see the difference when NOT black lit. #NeonMania #NeonHairBattle #PICKME . . . . . #licensedtocreate #behindthechair #hairoftheweek #hairoftheday #virginiahair #dmvhair #washingtondchair #washingtondc #NeonHair #GlowInTheDarkHair #GlowInTheDark #NeonHaircolor @kenraprofessional @behindthechair_com @guy_tang @rebeccataylorhair #creativehaircolor #fashionhaircolor #devineintervention @behindthechair_com
The trick to creating this stellar look? Kenra Color Neons. It transforms the hair into a fluorescent rainbow shade that's designed to glow under a black light. For best results (if you have darker hair), it might be in your best interest to do some quick bleaching to get a more vibrant, dramatic effect.
