Oils have been slowly gaining momentum in the States for the past few years and now, we can't imagine our routines without them! Whether you like to use oils solo or you prefer to find products that include them along with a host of other beneficial ingredients, the fact is your skin will thank you for introducing oils into your routine. There are several oils that have achieved all-star skincare status. One of our favorite is Jojoba oil.
The ingredient: Jojoba oil
Also known as: The liquid found in the Simmondsia chinensis ( Jojoba) plant , a shrub found in dry regions in the U.S., Mexico, and South America
Quick take: non-toxic, non-comedogenic and non-allergenic, antibacterial, has a high concentration of vitamin E, fights free radicals
Claims to fame: Out of all the oils out there, Jojoba oil has a structure that is nearly identical to human sebum (the oil your face and body naturally produce). That means, that it's easier for Jojoba to sink in than it is for other oils. Plus, Jojoba is anti-bacterial, making it an effective acne fighter. Jojoba oil is also a lightweight but powerful moisturizer and can help fight the effects of pollution and free radicals.
