Influenster Talks: How to Attend Twitter Parties
You get an alert on your phone, and it’s an email… from Influenster! You anxiously open it hoping to see what the good news is (because it’s always good news from the Influenster nation)… you have been cordially invited to a Twitter Party! No sooner than reading the first line, you find yourself cheering and grinning from ear to ear... but what exactly is a Twitter party? What do I need to bring -- is it BYOB? Is it casual attire or black tie optional? Below are some - hopefully - useful tips from one Influenster to another on how not only to become the belle of the ball, but to hopefully qualify for future campaigns!
What is a Twitter Party?
With every Influenster program, a Twitter party is a must. This is a way to use your social media savviness and speak with the Influenster nation about the products you have sampled. It’s also a way for Influenster HQ to get your honest and instant feedback. Bonus: these parties will also hint at future campaigns (VoxBoxes) and reward its most avid participants by instantly qualifying them for future programs. Most -- if not all -- of the parties I have attended are held during a weekday at 3PM EST or, in my case, noon on the West Coast. Shortly before the party starts, open your Twitter and go to the @influenstervox profile to view the party.
What you need to bring:
First and foremost, make sure you set at least an hour of your time to attend the party because they move rather quickly and you can get lost if you are not fully committed. Secondly, pick a device you are most comfortable with (i.e. a laptop, tablet, desktop, or phone) that will enable you to type, tweet, and upload the fastest. Lastly, keep your VoxBox pictures, product handles, and hashtags readily accessible because you will need them to post.
1. I work and type faster with my computer so I make sure to prepare at least a day before by uploading all of my VoxBox pictures onto a folder in my desktop for easy access; tweeting pictures of yourself using the products is a huge bonus.
2. The only way to get your comments accounted for is to hashtag and tag appropriately - so to prevent your awesome input from being overlooked, make sure to keep a copy of the Influenster cheat sheet handy (it is available on your profile under the campaign page’s details).
3. If the time of the party isn’t very convenient because, say, you’re at work, then try and schedule your lunch at this time so you don’t miss out.
4. Lastly, and most important of all, you do not have to be a part of the program to attend the Twitter party! Influenster will value your opinion just as much, even if you didn’t receive the product from them.
Remember that this is still a party, so have fun and shine like the star you are -- and you’ll hopefully qualify for future Influenster campaigns!
