I Need a Cocktail: Pimm's Cup
Summer heat got you down? Need a beverage that keeps it classy, but also cools you off? Look no further than the Pimm’s Cup, a delicious, refreshing cocktail that is absolutely perfect for the summer months. Pimm’s is a gin based liquor from England composed of gin, spices, fruit juice, and liqueur. It is the drink of choice at Wimbledon, and if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for us. What You'll Need:
3 oz. Pimm's Cup No. 1
3 slices cucumber (1/2 inch thick)
1 cucumber spear
2 slices lemon (1/2 inch thick)
4 oz. ginger beer
1 oz. lemon juice
1/2 tsp sugar
2 sprigs rosemary and mint (optional)
1 cup ice cubes
Knife (for slicing cucumber/lemons)
Shaker (or second glass for equivalent)
How You'll Do It:
Muddle cucumber slices and lemon slices in the shaker or glass with the muddler or with the bottom of the wooden spoon.
Add Pimm’s, lemon juice, sugar, and ice. Shake well.
Add ginger beer and sprigs of rosemary and mint if you have them.
Stir. Garnish with cucumber spear and cucumber slice.
