These summer months bring in endless amounts of fun and happy things, one of them being the warm and sunny weather. The downside to warm and sunny? That usually means humidity, too. Is it just us, or can you literally feel your hair growing? To help combat the thickness in the air and save our beloved hair, we made this simple Hair-O-Meter. (In need of some product? We've got that covered too!)
No one besides rainforest animals enjoys 100 percent humidity. People tend to get annoyed and irritable much faster than they usually would in humidity—don't let your hair be the source of added stress! Throw your hair up in a top-knot and get it out of the way. For a fun twist on the standard top-knot, try this French Braid Updo tutorial.
Even though it technically isn't quite as intense as 100 percent, it sure feels the same. Since it may be slightly more manageable, we figured we could put a little more effort into our hair. We love a braid on days like these. Try this awesome fishtail that we created in our Braid Bible series.
Nothing says effortlessly chic like rocking a perfectly placed high pony. You can jazz up a classic high pony by wrapping a small strand of hair around the elastic and fastening it with a bobby pin or two.
The half-up-half-down look always a good option! For the in-between weather that comes with 70 percent humidity, your hair should follow suit! The half up top-knot, ponytail, or braid are great options.
As the humidity decreases, our motivation to style our hair increases. Using only your face-framing hair, you can make a braid to keep everything out of your eyes! Have you ever tried a waterfall braid or twin microbraids?
50% Humidity or less
With this pretty standard level of humidity, you can sport a pretty standard hairstyle: down and natural! What's easier than letting your run free and do its thing? Nada.
What's your go-to hairdo in the humid weather?
