How to Throw a S'mores Party
We’re already halfway through May, which means summertime is right around the corner. One of my favorite summertime activities? Making s'mores of course! Gooey, chocolatey, and crunchy all at the same time, s’mores are the perfect treat to make with your favorite people under the stars. Why not try to sophisticate the tradition a bit by holding your very own DIY s’mores party to kick off the summer festivities?
Here’s what you’ll need:
Graham Crackers / Giant Chocolate Bar / Marshmallows
Feel free to offer varieties too! Each come in a number of different shapes, colors, and flavors that could prove to be fun alternatives for each s’mores maker. For example, why not try chocolate graham crackers, cookies n’ crème chocolate, or strawberry heart marshmallows?
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups / Andes Mint Thins / Strawberries / Bananas / Speculoos Cookie Butter / Raspberry Jam / Milk Cartons
Want to up your s’mores game to the next level? One word: toppings. With everybody going crazy over their s’mores, you know people would love to have some milk to wash it down!
Fire Pit* / Metal Skewers** / Blankets / Wet Wipes
In order to throw a successful s’mores soiree, you’ll need to come prepared. The wet wipes are an absolute must—all of my fond memories of s’mores included sticky fingers for the rest of the night (love is messy). Trust me on this one—your guests will be extremely thankful that you thought one step ahead!
* Should you find the need to throw your s’mores party indoors, simulate your own indoor fire with canned heat like Sterno Cooking Fuel.
** If you’re serving a large crowd, it might make more sense to go with bamboo skewers.
There you have it! Your very own checklist for an unforgettable s’mores party that all attendees are sure to love (you can best believe I’d be in attendance).
