How To: Dress For Yourself
It’s when the weather is down right hot that I want to wear bright colors. I feel that muted colors are great, but when it’s hot and sunny, and especially in Spring & Summer bright colors are warranted. I paired some great pastels and light fabrics over this floral dress (worn as a skirt), and topped it off with some great neon and black accents. The pastel, black, and neon accents really anchor all of the colors. It sort of ropes them in instead of letting them just go crazy. That’s what I love about wearing different items unconventionally. It’s discovering a fun way to anchor them and tie them together while not stifling their fire. I wasn’t always outwardly adventurous in fashion. I kept it all in a journal, in pictures I would paint or draw, or locked in my head. When I became an adult, I let myself blossom out of my self conscious shell and let my creativity run wild. I couldn’t be happier! The key to self happiness is not success or money. It’s letting your creativity and your imagination run free. It’s the little butterflies in your throat when you are on the verge of something or nervously trying something new. It’s the greatness you feel once you’ve actually allowed yourself to have the freedom to do and create what you really want to. That’s what self happiness is.
