Drinking water by itself can flush the body of toxins, but added with fruit and a few simple ingredients you can transform your water into detox water...with even more benefits!

Detox is such a buzz word, and most of us equate it with deprivation. However, its simple definition is the process of cleansing the blood and internal organs. The target toxins, or "culprits," are sugar, flour, processed foods, caffeine, and alchohol. When these toxins, are compiled in your body, you often feel lathargic, fatigued, and down right crummy. A water detox is an easy (and delicious) way to get those toxins out, without going on a crazy cleanse.

1. Strawberry Mint Water

What You'll Need: 

+ 1 cup fresh mint (only leaves)

+ 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced up)

+ 1 large water pitcher

+ 1 ½ cups of ice


Strawberries are great for adding energy to your body, and add great flavor. Mint helps with digestion, and can help to clear skin, boosts immunity, and relieves stress.


2. Cayene Pepper Lemon Water

What You'll Need:

+1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (it has to be raw, unfiltered)

+ Juice from 1 lemon

+ 1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper

+ 1-2 tbsp. Honey (raw honey is better)

+ Water (add more to dilute or add less to keep it pungent)


If you are looking for the added benefit of weight loss, this detox water is for you! The lemon helps to reduce waste, and kick starts your metabolism. The cayene pepper is the "kicker," meaning it burns off fat quickly, while also cleansing your colon and digestive tract. The honey offers natural flavor.


3. Citrus Detox Water

What You’ll Need: 

+ 4 slices of lemon

+ 4 slices of orange

+ 4 cucumber slices

+ 1 large water pitcher


Lemons and oranges are rich in vitamin C, which assist in reducing weight faster at the cellular level. That means that loading up on vitamin C can naturally increase fat burning. They also boost immune system function, reduce signs of aging. Cucumbers are rich in vitamins A, C, and folic acid. These properties can heal many skin problems, regulate blood pressure. They also contain silica which help feed your muscles.
