Halloween Safety Tips
If you’re like many families out there, you will probably be dressing up your little goblin or ghoul this Halloween for Trick-or-Treating. Here are several tips to keep everyone safe and able to have a fun time out this holiday.
Halloween Safety Tips:
Use Sidewalks – When available, always use the sidewalks rather than the street.
Don’t Dart Out - Teach kids to not dart out behind parked cars for sake of possible oncoming moving vehicles.
Parents, Stay Off Devices - I know we all want to Tweet and Instagram our cute little ones but wait until you’re in a safe place and not near traffic so your attention is on your surroundings.
Be Seen - Use glow-sticks, flashlights, reflective tape, etc. to help little ones be seen by oncoming cars.
Avoid Trips and Falls - Select costumes that fit well and don’t drag on the floor – make sure good fitting shoes are on as well.
Choose Face Paint – Rather than masks that can impair vision, try face paint and hair accessories for fun dress-up.
Parents, Drive Safely - When not on the road Trick-or-Treating, drive safely in neighborhoods – keep away from distractions and use precaution of little ones possible darting out from driveways.
