The Natural K-Beauty Brand Worth Splurging On
So much good stuff happening here.
If there are two beauty trends we simply can't get enough of here at Influenster HQ, it's K-beauty and natural skincare. So when we got the chance to test drive a brand that encompasses both of our skincare obsessions, we were more than eager to do so. Enter into the game, Femmue, a K-beauty brand that's new to the US thanks to K-beauty retailer Peach and Lily.
Femmue is a brand that's full of high-power, botanical-based, natural formulas. Founder Kelly Chung had a passion for the energy of flowers (who doesn't?!) and decided to harness these amazing botanical ingredients for a line solely based around the idea of "Flower Therapy" for skin. (That's our kind of therapy!) Each product includes a powerful floral to deliver maximum botanical benefits.
Right now, the brand is exclusive to Peach and Lily and includes five products: a cleansing balm, two floral masks, and two oils. Now, we'll be up front: these aren't the cheapest products around. Prices range from $38 for a mask to $88 for an oil, but after having tested them out ourselves, we're convinced they're splurge worthy for any K-beauty or natural lover. Keep reading to see each product and the potent ingredients each harness.
We all know a cleansing balm is as essential to any K-beauty routine as water itself. This one is particularly noteworthy thanks to a thicker jelly-like formula that boasts uber-hydrating olive oil, primrose oil, macadamia seed oil, lavender oil, citrus oil, and sunflower seed oil. The cleanser melts on skin for a non-greasy cleansing experience that tackles makeup, dirt, oil, and the like. We're even liking this product as a hydrating mask that delivers serious oil benefits to skin after just 10 to 20 minutes on skin prior to washing off. (This editor even put a touch of this on a dry patch on her hand for an instant hydration boost.)
A staple to any masking experience is a clay mask, however, they can be slightly drying from time to time. Femmue's is formulated to do the exact opposite: detox and hydrate. To do just that, Gypsy Rose relies on kaolin clay and squalene to unclog congested pores, rose extracts to soothe, and green tea oils to cut down on shine. And of course, thanks to the stunning Millennial pink packaging, this is a mask that's worthy of any vanity.
This mask is all about hydration and nourishment for the skin. With real camelia petals and oil infused right into the formula, it contains serious antioxidant benefits. But that's not all. Niacinamides, shea butter, aloe extract, licorice, and centella asiatica hydrate and soothe even sensitive skin. This 99.4 percent natural mask can be worn overnight to achieve the newly trendy "glass skin" effect. Also, we're suckers for flower petals.
Now here are our two favorite products. These oils are ideal for oil lovers as well as the oil skeptic. (But if you're still skeptical about using an oil, please give it a shot!) First, the Lumière Vital C is our latest obsession for achieving that gorgeous glow sans a drop of makeup. This vitamin C-rich formula delivers a seriously powerful dose of the brightener to skin via two percent ascorbic glucocide. But, despite having such a potent amount of vitamin C, we found it's a rather gentle formula thanks to the safflower seed oil, alpha-bisabolol, centella asiatica (among others). After a week of using, we noticed a subtle yet noticeably brighter complexion.
Lastly, when it comes to just an all-around pleasant oil, you can't go wrong with the Ideal Oil—appropriate name, huh? Founder Chung said at the launch party for the brand that it's just the perfect oil. And with a 100 percent naturally-derived formula, we're having a hard time arguing with her. The potent blend of camelia, olive, rose, grapeseed, and jasmine oils as well as vitamin E keep our skin calmed, texture smooth, and all around radiant.
You can shop the entire Femmue line right now at Peach and Lily.
