Fall Favorites: OVERALL, Not That Bad
I’ve always been an overalls hater. Crying as my mother forced me into them in grade school, you can only imagine my horror as I saw their comeback roll around this summer. Now, as it has become evident that overalls will be following us into the fall, I’ve decided that I can no longer live with this angst and must face my fear. Throwing my shadowed opinions to the side, as I surfed Pinterest and across the web, to my surprise, I found that overalls do not always leave one looking like a farmer’s daughter. In fact... could they be stylish after all?! Feeling like a hypocrite, I will definitely be found this weekend searching out the classic onesie... but first, here are my rules:
1. Be Creative.
Basic Blues can be... well.... Basic. Experiment with material (currently loving on the leather), pattern, and length!
2. Keep the top loose.
Whether you are rocking the overalls as more of a suspender look, or have the full top piece, too tight of the front can be simply unflattering. Instead, keep the top loose with perhaps a tighter top underneath, or experiment with varying levels of pant leg style.
I think my biggest mistake (back in my hater days) with overalls was that I envisioned them sans personal style. Adding a fall hate, or amazing booties to overalls leaves the second grade girl behind and enters a woman of confidence.
Basically what I’m saying here is.. OVERALL... they aren’t so bad after all.
