I've been battling chipped nails for as long as I can remember. Constantly washing my hands makes stressed cuticles basically a part of my brand. So, the concept of nail care is one I wholeheartedly stand by. But instead of going weeks without a drop of polish, I found something way better that doesn't require going bare. Enter essie's two-step gel couture collection. Spoiler: I don't see any reason to head to the salon again.
What it is: The two-step nail gel couture collection is nothing new to the brand, but this time essie fans are graced with the uber-feminine Ballet Nudes collection to channel our inner ballerinas. Harnessing ingredients like collagen and camellia leaf extracts, the formulas work to treat brittle nails for a healthy look in just one week. So, yeah, it's basically BB cream for your nails! There's no base coat or top coat required. Simply paint a coat and apply the clear gel over it. It takes only a few minutes to dry, and the gorgeous shine will last up to 14 days.
Our take: I can't rave about it enough! The most underrated part of this whole system is the flat, sturdy wand. It makes controlling the polish significantly easier than with bristles. I rushed the whole process and there's not a single streak in sight! Oh, and they're not kidding about the shine lasting for a while. I painted my nails over a week ago and it still looks fresh.
Bottomline: If you're in the market for nail polish that won't chip, stay shiny, and is actually good for your nails, then I'd say this is perfect for you. I can't recommend it enough!
