The fashion world has descended upon New York yet again for another season of New York Fashion Week. And it's about to descend upon the drugstore beauty aisle too. This past weekend, we got a very special spring time collaboration from Christian Siriano and e.l.f. cosmetics who teamed up for a capsule makeup collection inspired by Siriano's Spring 2018 runway show that hit the catwalk this past weekend at NYFW.
The new collection, which Siriano described during a launch event we attended prior to the runway show as a "psychedelic greenhouse,", will consist of richly pigmented eyeshadows and lippies, as well as a cosmetic bag to match. Each product is decked out in metallic hot pink packaging and lime green floral prints reminiscent of the same colors and designs Siriano featured in his recent runway collection. And what's more, the exact products he dropped with e.l.f. made their way backstage. Models walking the show (*cough, cough* Ashley Graham!) this past weekend wore products from the new collab.
But as attention-grabbing as the packaging might be, it's really the bold colors of the products that really have us dreaming of a psychedelic spring. The star of the show is the Bold Bouquet eyeshadow palette ($12). This seven-shade palette contains a selection of both matte and shimmer finishes in both muted neutrals and bold jewel tones. We're partial to the matte plum shade for a sweep of unexpected color on the lids as well as the oversized cream shimmer shade that can double as a highlighter. Take a peek at how models in this week's NYFW show wore the palette.
Next up, there's the lip offerings. You get a Liquid Matte Lipstick in Electric Fuchsia ($6). This shade delivers a pop of fuchsia that isn't for the feint of heart. Swipe this vitamin E-enriched matte lippie on for all those times you crave a little attention. But for the times you're aiming for a more toned-down pout, there's the pastel pink hue of the Tinted Lip Oil ($6). The Polished Pink color looks much more bubblegum in the tube but once applied, the nourishing gloss goes on super sheer for a subtle wash of color. And it wears really comfortably thanks to a mixture of hydrating jojoba, apricot, and vitamin E. And of course, you can store all your new goodies in a themed zipper makeup pouch ($8).
Right now, the new collections dropped in e.l.f. Cosmetics stores and online this past weekend (just in time for Siriano's runway show at NYFW!), but you can expect to shop it very shortly at Target.com on February 25 and in Target stores on March 11.
