4 Easy Hacks for the Coziest Winter Ever
Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean you have to stay indoors. Although, staying in with a glass of wine and a proper chick flick doesn’t sound like a bad fix to me! If you absolutely must brave the cold, be smart about it. Here are some of our favorite hacks to stay warm and cozy this winter without sacrificing your style!
PRO TIP: Keep some hand warmers with you at all times! Stash them in your pockets or purse and tuck them into your gloves if you’re feeling extra chilly. They’ll heat you right up!
STEP 1: LAYER IT ON
Leggings | Camisole | Boot Socks
The trick to keeping out the cold is packing on the layers! They don’t have to be thick and chunky--in fact, try wearing long johns, or even leggings from Forever 21 under your jeans to stay extra cozy. Wear a thin camisole under your shirt to keep out any cold breezes, and boot socks are an extra way to keep your toes warm and toasty.
STEP 2: LINE IT UP
Parka | Moccasins
When it comes to winter wear, fur is the way to go--faux fur that is! Make sure your wardrobe includes at least a couple items that are lined with faux fur or down for that extra layer of comfort. This parka is a must-have in the cold; the fluffy padding is a sure way to block out any wind or snow. Keep your feet warm inside the house with lined moccasins!
STEP 3: SCARF IT DOWN
Infinity Scarf | Silk Shawl
Nothing says warm and cozy like a soft, chunky scarf. With so many versatile styles to choose from, you’ll never have trouble finding one that matches your winter ‘fit. Infinity scarves will always be a classic, and silk wraps can be refashioned as wraps.
STEP 4: COVER YOUR EARS
Beanie | Earmuffs | Headband
Here’s a well-know, but often forgotten trick to staying warm: keep your ears covered! Try styling a chunky beanie with your winter wardrobe to keep your whole head warm. If you’re trying to minimize the bulk (and the frizz), opt for a pair of fun earmuffs or even a knit headband for a seriously cute and cozy look.
