DIY: Organic Makeup Remover

DIY: Organic Makeup Remover

Imagine being able to produce your own makeup remover anytime you want with all-natural, organic ingredients. That dream is now a reality thanks to this recipe! I got with the Whole Foods team to create this DIY beauty recipe.

There’s nothing wrong with makeup remover that you buy from the drugstore or your favorite high-end counter, honestly, except maybe the preservatives and the possibility that it’s not doing anything beneficial for your skin. Plus, not all makeup removers can remove waterproof makeup. This will.

1 small glass jar. I had trouble finding a tiny jar, so Mason jar it is!

1 measuring spoon

1 small whisk

3 tablespoons of Aubrey Organics Pure Aloe Vera Gel

1 tablespoon of Aura Cacia Jojoba Oil

1 tablespoon of 365 Everyday Value Organic Coconut Oil

If your coconut oil is solid (mine was already liquid because Mississippi):

1. Warm a clean saucepan on very low heat for 60 seconds.

2. Remove the pan from heat and add the coconut oil. Stir well until the coconut oil is liquefied.

3. Add all the ingredients to a clean jar and mix thoroughly

This recipe will give you about 2.5 ounces of makeup remover, which will last you about a week. Store it in the fridge to keep it fresh. When you are ready to use it, scoop out about a bit and rub between your hands to liquefy. Then massage into your face and around the lash area to remove makeup. Follow up with your normal skin care routine.

Jojoba Oil moisturizes skin, eliminates excess sebum, is anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory, and cleans pores.

Coconut Oil moisturizes skin and is anti-oxidant & anti-bacterial.

Aloe Vera treats sunburn & acne, and is an anti-aging moisturizer.
