DIY: Lace Print Bowl
These lace print bowls are so easy to make, and you can use them for all sorts of things from jewelry to keys! You can even change up the colours and pattern to fit your style.
YOU WILL NEED:
-White Air Dry Clay.
-Paint Brush (or sponge)
-Paint colour of your choice.
Cut off about 1 fifth section of your air dry clay and roll it into a ball, you need to work this in your hands to keep it warm and easy to manipulate.
Now roll it out to about 3mm thick, and then either eyeball it or cut around a bowl to make sure it's round.
Take your doily, and place it where you want on the plate, it can be half on like I have or all over it. Then take your rolling pin again and gently roll the doily into the clay to leave an imprint.
Now slowly press the clay into a bowl to form it's shape and leave it to dry. After 5 hours gently remove it and lie it upside down to keep the air circulating around the bowl and leave it overnight to properly set.
After it has fully set, use some sandpaper to file the edges and smooth them out. Make sure you don't use it too vigorously and crack the bowl, also blow the dust off afterwards so that the paint applies properly in the next step.
Now give it a light coat of paint, you can use any colour you like, but I chose white, and a silver around the rim. You can also seal it with Mod Podge / PVA if you like!
