DIY: How to Make a Midsummer Flower Crown
Playful, romantic, and colorful, flower crowns have blossomed into our favorite must-have summer accessory. Welcome the summer solstice in proper midsummer style with your own beautiful flower crown. Celebrate the sun by adorning your hair with this floral headpiece to add the finishing touch to your music festival ensemble! Here’s how to make your very own midsummer flower crown.
What You'll Need:
All of these items can be located at your local craft or floral store like Michael's. You can also use real flowers if you want!
Step #1: Measure the Base
First, take the floral wire and wrap it around the circumference of your head 2-3 times. Cut the wire and twist the wire strands around each other to reinforce the band—this will serve as the base for your flower crown!
Step #2: Bundle the Flowers
Playing with different shapes, colors, and sizes, make bundles of 2-3 flowers and bind them at the steps with your floral tape.
Step #3: Assemble Your Crown
Bending the trunks of your flower bundles as needed, place the bundles around the base you created with the floral wire. Secure them with floral tape once you are happy with your arrangement - you can either simply cover the front of the crown with flowers or place bundles all the way around!
Voila! Now you have the best go-to summertime accessory to wear while living it up under the sun. The best part—your floral crown is a reflection of your personal style; you’ve created a headpiece based on your choice of colors, flowers, and arrangements. Enjoy wearing your one-of-a-kind floral crown at all your summer occasions!
