Your Fave Beauty Brand Just Became Leaping Bunny Certified
And it's the largest beauty brand to do so!
Big news for makeup and animal lovers: One of your favorite makeup brands just announced they're now Leaping Bunny Certified. What's more they're the largest makeup brand to earn the certification! Any guesses as to which brand can now boast this amazing claim? That's right—it's none other than COVERGIRL itself.
The legendary beauty brand just announced today that they're officially 100 percent cruelty-free—for every product, everywhere COVERGIRL is sold! For those who need a refresher as to why this honor is so awesome, the Leaping Bunny seal is awarded by Cruelty Free International, and is considered the gold standard for banning cruelty-free practices.
So not only does the seal verify that COVERGIRL is cruelty-free, but it certifies that "no COVERGIRL products or ingredients are tested on animals, either by COVERGIRL or its suppliers." It's also a huge step in achieving the brand's goal of creating affordable and ethical makeup that can be accessible to anyone.
Beauties we have MAJOR news: COVERGIRL does not test on animals and now we’re Leaping Bunny certified by @crueltyfreeintl, which means we’re Cruelty Free across ALL our products, EVERYWHERE we’re sold! 🐰💄😊 At COVERGIRL, we believe that you shouldn’t have to choose between the beauty products you ❤️ and the values you believe in. As the biggest makeup brand to achieve the Leaping Bunny certification, we’re committed to getting affordable, ethical makeup into the hands of anyone who wants it. 🙌 Join us in celebrating our certification and supporting #CrueltyFreeBeauty by sharing your excitement with #COVERGIRLCrueltyFree and #COVERGIRLMADE! *COVERGIRL is not sold in China and with our new BFFs at Cruelty Free International, we are working together to advocate for regulatory change to end animal testing globally
No longer is it smaller, indie beauty brands that can boast such claims. Major beauty brands are embracing more ethical and sustainable practices. Earlier this year, L'Oréal launched their Seed Phytonutrients hair, body, and face line that's gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and cruelty-free with between 93 to 100 percent natural formulas and 100 percent recycled packaging. The Body Shop teamed up with Cruelty Free International to set a goal of collecting 8 million signatures from across the world by 2020 to take their petition straight to the UN to request an international convention that bans animal testing in cosmetics both for products and ingredients globally. And Love Beauty Planet is a new hair and body brand from Unilever that's made with totally sustainable packaging and ingredients.
