Mark your calendar cereal snackers. November 1 will be a big day for you. Frosted Flakes is dropping something new and chocolate-y in the cereal aisle. Meet Chocolate Frosted Flakes, a.k.a. Tony the Tiger's answer to a sugary sweet start to your day.

chocolate frosted flakes

Hot off of last year's launch of Cinnamon Frosted Flakes, the new chocolate iteration is here to take your sweet tooth to the next level. Now, you might just think this was a creation that was simply thrown together, but you'd be mistaken. Apparently, a lot of scientific research went into these chocolate flakes. In a press release, Kellogg's shared they tested how different cocoas interacted with the cereal flake and the milk left at the bottom of the bowl because they know drinking the sweet milk at the end is just as important as the first spoonful. #Science.

And what they landed upon sounds truly delightful: golden, toasted flakes with a rich, roasted cocoa frosting on top. But if you're a true Frosted Flakes aficionado, you know that there have been chocolate additions to the flaky food before with the Chocolate Frosted Flakes with marshmallows and the dark-chocolate Choco Zucaritas, which isn't readily available in US markets, sadly.

But now we'll be able to get our chocolate fix for good with this new permanent flavor addition. Sadly, we'll have to wait until November to get our hands on this new breakfast beauty.
