Celebuzz: Ice Bucket Challenge Edition
Chances are that if you have a computer, you've already heard about the Ice Bucket Challenge by now. For this widely trending challenge, friends are electing each other to either pour ice over themselves or to donate $100 to support the ALS Association. Naturally, celebrities love a good buzz AND a good cause, so you may have seen a few of your favorites upload their own fun takes on this internet phenomenon. Here are a few buzzworthy examples:
Charlie Sheen, in a surprisingly class act, re-enacted the Ice Bucket Challenge but with an added twist. Instead of dumping ice on himself, he dumped $10,000 with a valid message to viewers that ice would just melt, while money will make a lasting impact. In natural Sheen flare, he ended the video egging on his previous "Two and a Half Men" costars and producer to re-enact his video.
Ben Affleck, star of the upcoming "Gone Girl" and "Batman vs. Superman," gained some buzz Monday by accepting Tyler Perry's nomination. Adorably his wife, Jennifer Garner, poured the bucket over him to the glee of their children which you can hear laughing in the background. It gets even cuter when he pulls her into the pool with him in return.
In bizarre fashion, Lady Gaga shows her impressive tolerance while sitting cross-legged in a studded black leotard, black lipstick, and black penciled eyebrows. Instagramming the video and captioning, "#IceBucketChallenge #ALS #SharePainShowCompassion I nominate Adele, Michael Rapino, Vincent Herbert, and Arthur Fogel #RichPeople," Gaga makes not a sound where other stars often scream or laugh.
Guardians of the Galaxy hero, Chris Pratt, showed he can be a quirky hero in the real world as well. Deciding to do it his own way, he drinks a tiny bottle of Blue Ice Vodka and Smirnoff Ice to match the two challenges he received from Disney CEO Bob Iger and fellow actor, Vincent D'Onofrio. Unfortunately for Pratt, his friends convene to make sure he gets a good proper soaking.
So far the challenge has raised a few million dollars for the ALS Association and that amount continues to increase every day with new donors, famous or not!
