Hey Influenster Nation! In case you missed out on what's happened recently in pop news, here's a few tasty bites of information to get you up to speed:

Big Bang or Big Bucks?

Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard) and Kaley Cuoco (Penny) successfully negotiated new $90-million three-year contracts, eventually paying each actor a startling $1- million per episode along with additional shares of the franchise and bigger returns from the show's already successful syndicated run. Now like any good actor who just found out their costars got an obscene raise, Simon Helberg (Howard) and Kunal Nayyar (Raj) tried their hand at boosting their contract to comparable heights. Unfortunately, they being described as "supporting characters" by a Warner Brothers TV leak, only managed a $70-million deal. Although sizable, this leak begs the question whether these characters are viewed as expendable by the network higher-ups.

Kanye Does it Again

Kanye shows off his bad self again, but this time in court! Accused of assaulting a papparazi earlier this year and breaking the photogropher's camera, Kanye went on oath describing himself as "the smartest celebrity you've ever ******* dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears." If that wasn't enough, Kanye went on to cut off the papparazi's lawyer for quoting his own song, Flashing Lights - a song that features a rant about papparazi - saying he felt offend by hearing the racial explitive in his lyrics by a white lawyer. Kanye's playful sarcasm continued to carry out through most of the deposition, a strategy that may not work in his best interest. We'll have to see how West fares fresh from his June wedding with Kim Kardashian.

Gap's Culture Gap

The popular clothing brand, Gap, came under fire after tweeting a particularly skinny model's photo showcasing their green plaid shirtdress. Tweeters quickly came to attack, calling out Gap for not showcasing what real people look like as well as shaming the model herself for her weight. In response, Gap released a statement saying "Our intentions have always been to celebrate diversity in our marketing and champion people for who they are. Upon reflection, we understand the sensitivity surround this photograph. Customer feedback is important to us and we think this is a valuable conversation to learn from."

Taylor Swift Charms a Young Patient

Taylor Swift, an artist known for spontaneous acts of kindness to her fans, made headlines last week for surprising a young cancer patient staying at a Boston hospital. Stopping by to give an impromptu performance for the young boy named Jordan, she said "I love singing songs for people, but I want to sing a song for you more than all the other people." Videos of the songstress chatting, singing, and playing air hockey with Jordan can be seen on Jordan's Facebook page.
