Braid Bible: The French Braid Updo
Didn't you hear? It's Braid Bible time—so stop, drop everything, and grab a brush and hair tie.
If you tuned in last week, you saw how to create The Waterfall Braid. This week we're going majorly feminine and elegant with a French Braid Updo tutorial. It's really quite easy—just a creative take on a standard French Braid. Scan through these step-by-step instructions on how to DIY the look yourself. Although anyone can pull off this particular look, we think medium-to-long haired Influensters will have an easier time getting this one down pat (shorter haired ladies, dare to prove us wrong and send pictures!).
Step 1: Make sure your hair is completely brushed through to avoid any tangle trouble mid-braid.
Step 2: Since the "drama" of this look climbs up the back of your head, we're going to have to work backward. Flip that hair over, girl! (Yes—a head between the knees kind of situation.)
Step 3: Starting at the nape of your neck, take a section of your hair and separate it into three strands (just like a traditional braid). Make sure all three pieces are even.
Step 5: Begin by crossing the right strand over the center. Next, you cross the left strand over the center.
Step 6: Now, we will begin to work in new hair. Before crossing a section over the center again, grab some hair from the right side of your head and incorporate it in the crossover. Each time you cross over the center, gradually work in more hair from the main bank (that we left alone to start).
Step 7: Continue this process until you reach the crown of your head. Here, you can secure your hair with an elastic if you think you may drop it. Otherwise, twist away and round up that always perfect top knot.
Step 9: That's a wrap. How gorgeous do you feel?
When are you going to debut this look?
