Best Cold Weather Comfort Foods
As temperatures drop, nights out on the town become less and less appealing. Nowadays, I find myself spending my weekends in, curled up in a blanket treating myself to some good ole comfort food. While some may find their preferences stay constant throughout the year, my go-to comfort foods definitely shift with the seasons. Here are my 10 favorite comfort foods for cold weather!
When it comes to comfort food, pizza’s a classic for any time of the year. As a New Yorker, my go-to comfort pizza is definitely Artichoke Basille’s.
The king of comfort food. Nutella is my go-to for any time I’m having mood swings (and all other times too).
3. Mac and Cheese
There’s nothing that quite keeps you warm and cozy like a hot bowl of thick, creamy mac and cheese. Mmmm.
4. Tomato Soup
Tomato Soup is the perfect cure to Monday blues, especially when it’s rainy and cold outside. Perfectly paired with a grilled cheese sandwich!
5. Grilled Cheese
So many variations, so many cheeses, so many toppings to consider when constructing the perfect grilled cheese! As previously mentioned, grilled cheeses are delectable when dunked in warm tomato soup.
6. Cake/Brownie in a Mug
There’s something about eating a fudgy chocolate cake-like dessert out of a cup that just defines lazy Sunday afternoon. Extra comfort points if it’s your favorite mug.
7. Girl Scout Cookies
I’m personally pro-Thin Mints, but I know plenty of Samoa and Tagalong lovers that can confirm that Girl Scout Cookies can instantly turn a bad day around.
8. French Toast
Try and tell me that waking up to a fresh stack of French toast on a chilly Saturday morning isn’t the most comforting feeling ever.
9. Baked Potato
Hearty and full of everything that is unhealthy, baked potatoes are a sure way to fill your tummy and rid your worries.
10. Chicken Potpie
The creamy goodness of fresh-out-of-the-oven chicken potpie with its ever-so-slightly crunchy crust makes it a wonderful way to end your week.
