Think back on all the times you've reached for your favorite pint of Ben & Jerry's: spa night, movie night, Friday night—any night, for that matter. Now, how many of those times did you pretended calories simply didn't count? Although we're big proponents of the "everything in moderation" life motto, we're always on the hunt for lighter versions of our favorite sweet treats. And we're about to get a healthier option from an unlikely source.
Starting today, Ben & Jerry's will be rolling out a brand new, lighter line of ice creams called Moo-Phoria. Similar to Halo Top, which had been pretty much dominating the low-cal ice cream market and our stomachs, Moo-Phoria will deliver that sweet creamy fix—without the crazy calorie count.
In fact, Ben & Jerry's new Moo-Phoria line is much lower in calories—like 160 calories per half-cup serving—and contains 60 to 70 percent less fat and sugar than regular ole ice cream. As if that wasn't enough, the new line is made with organic dairy, no erythritol, sugar alcohols, or sugar substitutes to retain that Ben & Jerry's flavor you know and love. That movie night pint just got a bit sweeter, if you ask us.
As far as flavors are concerned, we've got Caramel Cookie Fix a.k.a. vanilla ice cream with shortbread cookies and salted caramel swirls. At 150 calories per serving (600 calories per pint if you're thinking big picture!), this is a much lighter option than many pints on the market.
And there's Chocolate Milk & Cookies. This vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream contains chocolate chip cookies and racks up only 140 calorie per serving or less than 600 calories per pint.
Lastly, there's one for the peanut butter lovers. (*Raises spoon*) P.B. Dough is a chocolate ice cream base with globs of peanut butter of heaven—sorry, we mean chocolate chip peanut butter cookie dough. This one is also a sweet surprise at only 160 per 1/2 cup serving.
