Beauty Dictionary: Photoaging
With new products, shades, tips, and tricks coming out every week, how are you supposed to keep up with all that's going on in the beauty world? We've got you covered. Our Beauty Dictionary series will help you stay on top of all that fancy lingo! It's like SAT vocab...but way more glam.
The Word: photoaging
What it means: discoloration, wrinkles, or other damage to the skin that's caused by too much exposure to UVA and UVB radiation
Also known as: photodamage
What it does: harms your skin (beware!)
How to beat it: Use products with SPF, Green Tea, and Vitamin C! Here are some options:
1. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid, $33.50 at Walgreens
This powerful sunscreen from French drugstore favorite is lightweight, making it a great option for everyday protection from the sun. Remember that even when there's cloud cover, UV rays can still shine through and cause damage to your skin, so you're best off being covered!
2. KORRES Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil, $54 at Sephora
This oil will fight the signs of aging! By repairing wrinkles and hydrating skin, it promises to increase your skin's elasticity. Thank you Vitamin C!
3. Solar Sense Clear Zinc Stick for Face & Lips, $3.89 at Drugstore.com
Toss this SPF stick in your beach bag, pocketbook, or backpack! It's easier than spreading sunscreen across your face (don't forget your lips too!), and the green tea will restore moisture.
