Last week it was all about creating a natural pop to your eyes with tightlining. (If you missed our Beauty 101 on how to expertly line your upper lid, you can catch it here!) This week, we're teaching you everything you need to know about it's close eyeliner cousin: waterlining.
The scoop: This technique is used on the bottom water line of your eye, on the skin between the lashes and the eye. (Many of you probably already do this!)
Why it's necessary: Just as tightlining is meant to draw attention to your peepers, waterlining makes a high-drama, sexy look that's—you guessed it—all about the eyes. This look is great for filling in sparse spots in lashes, creating a super smoky eye, and even playing around with fun eyeliner color.
How to do it: This might take a little bit of practice, but we promise it's not hard! Just be sure you're armed with a waterproof liner to start. Although you can give this a go with a pencil or liquid liner, just remember the key is in application. Stick to small strokes directly applied to the pink, watery part of your eyelid that touches the inside of your eye. Be prepared for some watery eyes! Just take it slow and make sure to cover the line completely so it looks consistent.
