Hard Cider Gets the Rosé Treatment
And just like that, rooftop season has changed forever.
Rosé season is still a few months and temperature upgrades away, but that doesn't mean our minds (and hearts) aren't on the pink drink. And now we have another reason to think pink. The #1 hard cider on Influenster, Angry Orchard, is getting the rosé treatment, just in time for happy hour season.
Starting this month, you'll be able to get your cider and rosé fix in one beautiful combo with Angry Orchard Rosé hard cider. The crisp taste of hard cider that you know and love gets a bit of a vino twist thanks to this unique blend. Angry Orchard chose red flesh apples (a.k.a. Amour Rouge apples) from in Brittany, France to blend with six apple varieties and other fruity ingredients, like hibiscus, to create the biting juice.
Although this blend is still 100 percent hard cider, thanks to the light tannins in the mix, its taste is actually similar to a semi-dry wine, according to the brand. And if you're feeling super fancy, you can even pair your new rosé-meets-cider drink with a solid cheese and meat plate. Just remember that because this is a cider, it packs that ABV punch. (These are 5.5% ABV)
You can shop the new flavor in six packs for $7.99 and a 12-pack variety packs with other Angry Orchard styles for $14.99, starting this month. You can also sip on the new Angry Orchard Rosé at the Kentucky Derby, where it will be the Derby's official hard cider. You know, if that's your sort of thing.
What do you think of this new flavor of hard cider? Will you give it a try or just stick to your classic cider sip?
