History and beauty are overlapping at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. The museum recently amassed a collection of more than 2,200 cosmetic and personal care items that date all the way back to 1860, according to Racked. The archiving of the products is an interesting way for beauty fanatics to know not only what was sought after back in the day (looking at you, self-tanners), but also the economic state of the country. Take a look for yourself!

There's no doubting your selfie wasn’t already a stunning work of art, but there’s now an app that can turn your photos into virtual paintings. The app, Prisma, provides you with filters that can transform any photo into watercolors, pop art, collages, and more! It's available now for iPhones, but unfortunately, Android users will have to wait a little longer. Although, the brand promises it will be here shortly!
Kat Von D makeup will officially be 100 percent vegan.
The tattoo and makeup artist is making a significant change to her makeup line. The announcement of the change toward all vegan products came at a perfect time given the release of the already sold-out Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette, which is also vegan. The brand is already mostly vegan and 100 percent cruelty-free, so it’s no surprise Kat plans to make the change. There's no word yet on what’s to come, but we’re sure it will be nothing short of amazing.
