Whether it be your grandmas old cookie recipe or one of your favorite dinners. Simple and healthy substitutes can change your recipe from unhealthy to delicious and nutritious! Try making these swaps in your favorite recipe!
Black Beans = Flour
Black beans drained and rinsed are a perfect alternative for flour when it comes to desserts like brownies! Black beans can help cut out the gluten and add a little extra protein and trust us it’s delicious!
Swap out 1 cup flour for 1 cup black bean puree
Whole Wheat Flour = Flour
Swapping flour with whole wheat flour is an incredibly easy and nutritious way to change and recipe! Whole wheat provides extra fiber and nutrients that normal flour lacks!
For every cup of white flour, substitute 7/8 cup of whole-wheat
Unsweetened Applesauce = Sugar
Applesauce in place of sugar will add the perfect amount of sweetness and leave behind the extra calories and sugar!
You can sub sugar for applesauce in a 1:1 ratio, but for every cup of applesauce you use, reduce the amount of liquid in the recipe by 1/4 cup.
Vanilla = Sugar

A recipe calling for 1 cup of sugar should be swapped for 1 teaspoon liquid stevia (or about 2 tablespoons stevia powder).
Avocado = Butter
Do you put avocados on everything? this is the perfect swap for you! Avocados provide fiber potassium and vitamin K as well as healthy fats! You can even swap this for butter when baking!

Substitute ¾ cup of olive oil for every cup of butter!
