Pigtails, according to Roberts, are a frequent request these days at Blades Salon. He says the beauty of this style is that it can be great for any age. This look is perfect for summer when the braids are loose and tied below the chin. So, what are you waiting for? Embrace the trend like New Girl Zooey Deschanel has!
The Product You’ll Need: Texturizing Spray
We love Umberto texture spray, but any brand works! What is does is give you the ‘undone’ look, which is perfect for a carefree summer style.
2. Low Bun
This can be at any height on your head, but Jay suggests going for a low sweeping look at the nape of the neck. The best thing about the soft, tousled bun is its multitasking power. Leave it in overnight if you have flatter hair and then rework it into a loose, wavy look the next day. Voila!
The Product You’ll Need: Mousse
We love Organix Coconut Oil Mousse because of its moisturizing power, you’ll need it after all the sun your hair will get this summer.
3. The Half-Up Half-Down
Even if you’re not attending a festival this summer, Jay says this look is a must. It’s also very easy and can change by the amount of hair you put up. You can try a cute, topknot like Jamie Chung’s at Fashion Week, or go for a cute half ponytail look. The choice is yours!
The Product You'll Need: Styling Foam
Texture is everything, says Jay, and we couldn’t agree more. The way to customize this look for summer, the half-up, half-down look need piecey hair. Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam gives you just that after running it through dry strands before styling.
4. Dutch Braid
You can thank the Kardashians for this one. If you’re not an A+ braider, have a friend help you out! Jay says to start with a strong center part and divide into two sections. Apply some gel or wet product to the hair. Next, separate the hair into three parts. The right piece will go under the middle piece, then the left piece goes under the middle piece. The most important part is to keep incorporating strands as you get closer to the ends of your hair. Repeat on the other side.
Product You'll Need: Hairspray
This look makes you prone to flyaways, so it’s important to lightly spray the braids and head with some spray. Influensters love the staying power of Bed Head Hard Head Hard Hold Hairspray.
5. Textured Blowout
Did we mention Jay’s a fan of texture this summer? The textured blowout is something he saw on the Fashion Week runway that’s becoming a popular request in the salon. Add some product to almost-dry hair and run your fingers through while you blow dry. The result? An easy, off-duty model look.
The Product You’ll Need: Wave Creation Foam
When it comes to creating a light texture that looks wind-swept and stylish, sea salt sprays get all the love. But, Influensters are singing the praises of TRESemmé Expert Selection Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam which creates hold and texture without weighing hair down.
