5 Tips for Keeping Fitness Resolutions

Although it may seem super easy to make fitness resolutions when the new year is right around the corner, most of the time we struggle with keeping them all year long. With friends, events, and “I’m too sleepy” syndrome, sometimes it seems near impossible to keep up with any workout regimen, let alone an ambitious one! So, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Peony to come up with a few tips and tricks to keeping your fitness resolutions for 2016!

1. REWARD YOURSELF WITH SOME CUTE NEW GEAR.

Ain’t no shame in needing some retail therapy to get you motivated! Nothing motivates me more than wanting to show off some cute new gear. It can be something small like a headband or an all out new outfit, whatever it takes! Set up a system that rewards you for sticking to your workouts for weeks at a time - we're all about celebrating every victory in 2016!

 

 

2. WEAR YOUR WORKOUT CLOTHES TO WORK.

This may sound a little crazy to some, but there ARE cute, fashionable, comfortable, and work appropriate workout clothes out there! If you’re someone who tends to forget their workout bag when running out the door in the morning try leaving a few spares in varying locations. Whether it’s under your desk, at your boyfriend’s house, or at the gym, leaving a spare bag in a few places might keep you from missing a workout here and there!

 

 

4. SLEEP IN YOUR WORKOUT CLOTHES.

This one may seem silly, but trust me, it actually works. If you sleep out in your workout clothes you’re way less likely to hit the snooze button in the morning and sleep through your workout. This can work especially well in the winter time when your warm bed becomes near impossible to get out of. Plus, if you have cute and comfortable workout clothes sleeping in them is easy as pie!

5. PLAN SOME WORKOUT DATES.

Nothing says I love you like feeling the burn together. Skip happy hour and pregames, and plan to meet up with friends at a new workout class. It kills two birds with one stone: keeping you accountable and keeping your fitness resolutions exciting by helping you branch out to find new workouts!
