Tip #1: Shorten your showers.
We always like a nice and steamy shower, but according to WebMD, the winter months aren’t the most ideal for it. Hot water actually removes the skin's natural oils more quickly than warm or cold water. So, what’s the solution? Reduce your shower time and use warm water instead of steamy hot. Then, when you’re finished, pat dry your skin--don’t rub!
Tip #2: Moisturize as often as possible.
Moisturize when you get out of the shower at night, before you go to bed, and / or when you wake up in the morning. It’s a great way to soothe your pores and prevent chapped skin. And don’t forget to drink water -- it’s like a natural moisturizer!
Tip #3: Wear Sunscreen more than you THINK you need to.
Crazy fact from WebMD: "Up to 80% of the sun's rays can penetrate light clouds, snow, and fog. Over time that exposure can lead to moles, wrinkles, and even skin cancers." So, even when it’s overcast outside your best bet is to slather on the sunscreen to prevent any damage. Reach for SPF of at least 15, with UVA and UVB protection.
Tip #4: Use shaving cream.
We all know shaving can get a little irritating, especially when our skin’s moisture starts shaking up. WebMD suggests using a lubricant when you shave, like shaving cream.
