DIY Facials That Won’t Break the Bank
Low on cash but still craving a refreshing and nourishing skin treatment? Here are five easy-to-make facial recipes you can whip up without having to leave your kitchen:
1. Moisturizing Avocado Mask
This mask is a great way to combat dry skin from either cold, windy winter weather or a day out in the sun. Honey is basically a skin savior.
½ of an avocado
1 teaspoon plain yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
In a bowl, mash the avocado until smooth. Next, add in the yogurt and honey and mix into a paste-like texture. Apply to face for 15-20 minutes and feel your skin thanking you! The mixture of ingredients ensures a hydrating and stress-relieving treat for your skin!
2. Deep Cleansing Pore Treatment
This mask is the perfect option if you’re looking for a pore-tightening and rejuvenating facial experience. The combination of oatmeal and yogurt combat larger pores, which tend to draw attention to unwanted blemishes.
1 tablespoon dry oatmeal
2 tablespoon plain yogurt
Mix yogurt and oatmeal in a bowl until both ingredients are fully blended. Apply to face and allow ten minutes for the mask to set. Rinse off with warm water and bask in the glorious results. The aftermath of this treatment has been described as just short of magical. This mask is great for all skin types and definitely won’t disappoint.
3. Exfoliating Brown Sugar Scrub
There is no better feeling than smooth, rejuvenated skin and this scrub will give you just that! The coarseness of the sugar will help to massage away dead skin cells while the coconut oil works to moisturize. If that combination doesn’t sound like a dream come true then I don’t know what does!
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
Mix these two ingredients together and rub on face in a circular motion. Indulge for as long as you feel necessary and rinse with warm water. This treatment is highly recommended and will leave you feeling confident about your skin. Your skin will be begging for a repeat as soon as it’s gone!
4. Anti-Inflammatory Mask
This last mask is definitely not the least. It combines three powerhouse ingredients that do wonders for your skin. The mixture is key for reducing inflammation as well as brightening skin making this the perfect mask to use before a big night out or even better for a morning after one too many glasses of pinot.
2 tablespoons of yogurt
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of turmeric spice
Turmeric spice has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and is used all over the world to aid in helping skin look its best. Mix the ingredients above together and spread evenly on face. Leave this mask on for about 30 minutes or until the mask feels tight on your skin. Rinse with warm water and washcloth.
