Review for Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Foaming Cleanser Acne Pimple Treatment - 4 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
This is my favorite cleanser to use for regular breakout maintenance. I've been using it for years now and even though I've never had tons of problems with my skin, I've noticed that when I use this cleanser regularly I have even less issues with breakouts. Smaller breakouts don't hit the surface of my skin and the bumps that do seem to come and go without much fuss most of the time--thank heavens. lol I've noticed the most positive changes during the summer when my skin is oily and I'm getting ready to start my cycle, because that's when my skin is the most problematic. This starts to work on my skin almost immediately and if I use the Avon Overnight Blemish Treatment or Intensive Cream Cleanser (as a spot treatment) on any breakouts afterward, they're usually gone within a couple of days.

My skin is sensitive but I don't notice any issues with this product unless I try to use it too often. I notice a bit of tingling in the first couple of minutes after washing my face, but I don't have any redness, burning, irritation or drying out of my skin. My face is surprisingly soft afterward considering that the active ingredient is salicylic acid but I'd suggest moisturizing the skin afterward anyway. I don't use this on a daily basis because then it does irritate my skin, but it's a great addition to my regular skincare routine a few times a week. It works better for my skin when I use it in combination with Avon's other skincare products, but it works on its own as well. I have to say I haven't really noticed a lot of foaming with the cleanser, but that's not really an issue for me.

The consistency of the cleanser isn't watery per se, but it's not very thick so you should be careful with how much you use. Be careful with getting it in your eyes; it hurts like a thorn in the butt. lol You don't need to use a lot of it to cover your entire face. In short, this is a great cleanser to use if you have normal to (slightly) sensitive skin or don't have any issues with salicylic acid. If your skin is easily irritated or already dry I'd suggest using a gentler wash.

Review for: Blackest Black more...
I've been using this mascara since it debuted and it's still in my top 3. The black is actually black--its not a dark brown or gray, which I really appreciate. The formula isn't super clumpy on its own but if you like spider lashes like I do (we all have our preferences, don't judge me lol) it's not hard to create that effect. You can keep it light and still see a noticeable difference in your lashes, or you can go overboard like I do and it'll still look alright. I don't have issues with flaking, the product drying out or product creating large clumps on the wand. It stays put all day but washes right off. I've noticed it also works well with other mascaras, lengthening ones in particular. I usually use this in combination with a lengthener to get the effect I want. Love this mascara.

Review for Australian Gold Baby Lotion SPF 50 - 4 months ago
Australian Gold is now one of my favorite brands of sunscreen. I used this a couple of summers ago and it's been a godsend for my skin. My skin doesn't burn when I have too much sun, but it dries out very quickly then starts to flake and peel. It'll still do that if the sunscreen I'm using isn't sufficient. I didn't have that problem with this sunscreen; it actually seemed to keep my skin moisturized? while I was out in the sun. It says its water resistant--a theory I haven't tested yet--but it's kept my skin protected, I don't notice any flaking or peeling when I go out after applying it, and it doesn't break down when I apply lotion before or afterward. The formula isn't watery or sticky, doesn't leave a film or white cast on the skin after application and the scent isn't too bad either. It's affordable to boot so it's a go-to every summer for me.
Review for Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette - 4 months ago

This was one of the first makeup palettes I bought years ago during a summer sale, and I still have yet to finish it. I think I picked this palette up for less than $25 and for a beginner to makeup that's a steal. Many of the colors are vibrant and if you have a gentle hand it should be awhile before you hit pan on many of them, another thing that's rather surprising because the pans are small. There are a mix of metallic, shimmery and matte shades in all kinds of colors so it's definitely not lacking in variety. Some colors are more intense than others, but I kind of expected that so it's not a huge problem for me. My primary complaint with the palette is that the colors aren't too firmly pressed so they break easily. I dropped one of the pans and there was eyeshadow everywhere. The surface of a lot of the colors are firmly pressed into the pan, but after that the color becomes very...flimsy? is the only word that comes to mind. If you're hard on your makeup, use a lot of color during application or need a palette with more portability, this probably isn't the one to get. It doesn't seem fit for rough handling at all. If you intend to keep the palette at home or not move it as often, you should be good.

Review for Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 - 4 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
I received a sample of this sunscreen in a subscription box a couple of summers ago and was not a fan of it at all. The formula was definitely its namesake--goopy--and watery. Maybe I got a sample that had been sitting for awhile, I'm not sure, but I didn't really like it. It has that heavy sunscreen scent at first but thankfully it doesn't linger. It wore pretty well underneath my makeup and didn't leave a greasy sheen on my face, which I liked. Other than that, there wasn't anything particularly notable about it for me.

Review for BH Cosemetics 88 Color Neutral Palette - 4 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
If you're just starting to build a makeup collection, this is a good palette to purchase. It's affordable and the colors themselves are easy to practice different techniques--smoky eyes, cut creases, etc.--if you don't have practice with those. It's a good base palette to have. I'm sure there are neutral palettes with more pigmented colors, and once you have more makeup I'd suggest looking into one (especially if you have tanned skin as half of the colors either don't show up on me or look very similar) but this is a good starter palette to get. I noticed many of the colors looked similar in swatches, probably because of my skintone, so for lighter complexions they'll probably show up more true to color. I also noticed the surface of a few were hard and swatched rather chalky, so there's that to look into too. All in all, it's a decent palette to start out with but I'm not in love with it.

Review for Avon Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex - 4 months, 1 week ago
These are my favorite makeup remover wipes. When i use these with the Avon Eye Makeup Remover Cream it cuts my nighttime routine in half because I don't have to scrub my eyes for 10 minutes. Lol The wipes are gentle on the skin, don't flake or tear while I'm wiping my face, and they break down all the mascara and eyeliner I usually wear. If you wear light makeup i think these would work very well. I didn't notice any issues with irritation or redness after using them so they're good for sensitive skin. I didn't notice a scent either so that's another plus. I prefer these to other brands of remover wipes.
Review for Simple® Cleansing Facial Wipes - 4 months, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
Wasn't the biggest fan of these. I've used a couple of Simple products before with no problems but I didn't care too much for the wipes. I tried out a sample size bag and it didn't fully remove my makeup, I had to go back a few times in order to get most of my makeup off. The scent isn't strong but my skin had a sticky texture afterward so I couldn't use these and not wash my face afterward. The texture of the wipe isn't rough so it'll be fine if you have sensitive skin; I didn't have any issues with that. If you wear light makeup these should be fine but I'd still suggest giving your skin a good rinse afterward.
Review for Neutrogena® Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - 4 months, 1 week ago
I don't use a lot of Neutrogena products but these wipes are great. I don't have to scrub at my face to remove my makeup and they don't have a heavy scent or make my face feel stripped and dry afterward. The wipe seems to be made of decent material as it doesn't flake or fall apart while I'm removing my warpaint. I like these a lot.
