I have spent 37 years hiding from cameras. It's high time that I stop hiding and embrace myself. I love makeup and how it magically turns the ordinary into extraordinary! I always very excited to try new products and share with my friends my top picks.
I LOVE MARCELLE! I have a bunch of their products and, with the exception of 1 mascara, I have been over-the-moon THRILLED with the Marcelle product line. I received this CC Cream in my Birchbox late last fall, but set it aside. I tend to wear heavier foundations in the fall/winter and BB/CC creams in summer.
Previously I was using the IT Cosmetics CC Cream but set it aside a week ago to use this product. The two brands are sort of similar in price. IT is $38/1.08 oz (or $35.19/oz). Marcelle is $33/1.1 oz (or $30/oz). While Marcelle is cheaper, it's only available online. Once taxes and shipping are added, the two become almost exactly the same price point.
Which brings us to performance. Both claim to be full coverage, but I feel that they are both actually buildable medium coverage. Both survived early morning workouts at the gym as well as late afternoon naps without needing touch-ups.
For packaging, I have to give it to Marcelle. Their plastic bottle seems a little more sturdy than IT's plastic tube. I also admire the package art on Marcelle. The bold font and gold lettering truly catch the eye.
I have no intention of getting rid of either product. They are both excellent CC creams and variety is the spice of life. But I have to give Marcelle a major part in the back for shining even when placed side by side with one of the largest cosmetics companies in the world. If you haven't given Marcelle a chance yet, I firmly recommend you to.m.
I'm a big fan of gel pencils so this is right up my alley. These pencils go on super creamy without tugging or skipping. And the pigmentation is wonderful. My only criticism is that, by the end of the day, they tend to fade or bleed down the lower eyelid giving a slight raccoon appearance. That being said, I still think they are a good value for the price. Just make sure to check your eye look from time to time and touch up as needed.
I love these Tarte blushes. They're moderately pigmented, but are very buildable. Since they aren't overly pigmented, you can go from a subtle blush of color to a standout wow of color. I somewhat question the assertion that they last for 12 hours, but I did tend to touch my face a lot, so maybe that's my fault. They are somewhat on the pricey end, but blush is a product that you don't need a lot of so it lasts a long time. And the quality definitely justifies the price.
Review for: tarte Ready, Set, Radiant Skin Mist more...
I got this as part of the Ulta 21 Days of Savings. I love Tarte products, so I was excited to get such a deal. Totally NOT worth it. First, the sprayer is awful. Instead of a fine mist I got blotchy blobs of liquid coming at my face. More importantly, though, is the smell. It smells AWFUL. I suffer from chronic migraines, so I have to be careful about scented items. I checked the ingredients list and none of the ingredients listed are particularly harsh so I figured I was in the clear. Nope. It has a strong pungent odor that immediately gave me a headache. I was fearful that people around me could smell it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use it long enough to speak to its efficacy, but I CAN say with absolute certainty that, if you have a sensitive nose, this is not the product for you. Stick with Urban Decay's All Nighter. It works very well without an obtrusive scent.
This is just another example of how amazing Coastal Scents products are. Their eyeshadow pallets are unbelievable so I HAD to get the brushes to go with them. Coastal Scents brushes are softer than any other brush I've ever tried (including Luxie and Vasanti). They feel like silk against my skin. They're great at picking up powder and you always get good, even application. They're very durable. I've washed them several times without the hairs becoming rough or falling out. And they're SO much more affordable than other brush sets. I got a whole set for the same cost as 2-3 Luxie brushes. If you're going to invest in a complete brush set, this is the one to get.
This is one of my favorite exfoliators that I've ever tried. It combines a chemical exfoliant with a natural crystal exfoliant all in one. It's INCREDIBLY effective without being too rough or damaging on sensitive skin. After only one use your skin looks and feels rejuvenated. My skin is softer, more supple, and brighter every time I use it. While most exfoliators recommend only using them 1-2 times a week, Vasanti is safe enough to use 3-5 times a week. You won't need it that often though. Your skin will maintain its smooth and supple texture for several days. It's just that good. Plus, most facial scrubs that include a chemical exfoliant have an unpleasant, chemical-ly smell. This one smells fresh and clean. Highly, highly recommend.
I suffer from chronic migraines so I have to be very careful about scented products, especially perfumes. Eau So Fresh is one of the only high-end perfumes I can tolerate without getting a migraine. It has a light, feminine, flirty scent perfect for spring. It's not overwhelming so I don't feel like I've bathed in perfume like some scents. And it's affordable compared to other products in its market. Highly recommend.
